Our Tea

The Hebridean Tea Company was established on the Isle of Lewis, preparing ground for tea in 2016. Kenny, Bruce, Iain and Gareth were looking for ways to diversify the use of their crofts. Bringing the Outer Hebrides into the growing tea producing movement in Scotland seemed a natural step.

We use the natural ingredients found on our crofts to smoke and blend with Scottish grown tea. We take heather wood grown on our crofts to gently smoke black tea and blend this with bright heather flowers. The resulting tea reflects the wild coastal facing crofts found in eastern Lewis.

Our first tea Island Smoked Scottish Black Tea is available to purchase through The Wee Tea Company.

The Hebridean Tea Company is located on the Isle of Lewis which is part of the Hebridean archipelago situated to the west of mainland Scotland. The crofts are exposed to the wild weather of the Atlantic Ocean which makes for a unique tea producing environment. The peaty soil and salty air mean that the tea produced here is truly unique.
